Choosing which AI features are available
The AI screen decides which of Lenni’s features exist for everybody in your account. It is a set of switches and nothing else — there is no per-person control here, and no usage limit to set.
Where it is
Section titled “Where it is”Choose Admin, then Workspace and AI.
The master switch overrules everything
Section titled “The master switch overrules everything”Global AI master switch is not simply the first item in the list. While it is off, every AI feature is off, whatever the individual switches below it say.
That is worth knowing in both directions. Turning it off is a complete stop, so you do not need to work down the list. But the switches below it keep whatever position you left them in, so turning the master switch back on restores the features you had, not all of them.

Turning Lenni actions on or off for the whole account
Section titled “Turning Lenni actions on or off for the whole account”Lenni actions controls whether Lenni can make changes for people, such as creating a group, assigning a course or unassigning one, once they confirm what Lenni shows them. With it off, Lenni still answers questions and shows figures; it simply never changes anything.
The switch sits under AI chatbot and depends on it: Lenni acts through the chat, so turning AI chatbot off turns Lenni actions off too.
Having the switch on does not give anyone new abilities. Only people whose role includes Lenni: Take actions can use it, and only for things their role already lets them do in Learnient. New accounts give that permission to the administrator roles only. See How Lenni actions work.
Why the two course-generation switches are separate
Section titled “Why the two course-generation switches are separate”The two course-generation switches are separate on purpose. Generating from a prompt sends only what an author typed; generating from a file sends the file. Accounts that are comfortable with the first and not the second can have exactly that.
Default image style
Section titled “Default image style”Default image style sets what AI-generated images look like when nobody chooses otherwise. Left on Auto, it is decided per image rather than fixed. View examples shows the styles before you commit to one.
This is a default rather than a restriction — an author can still choose a different style for a particular image.
What a new account starts with
Section titled “What a new account starts with”Every AI feature is on when an account is created, so this screen is somewhere you come to remove things rather than to enable them.
If your organisation has a position on AI, set it here before people start building, because a course generated under the old setting does not un-generate when you change it.
What happens when you save
Section titled “What happens when you save”Save changes applies immediately for everybody. AI controls disappear from the screens they belonged to rather than staying visible and refusing — somebody mid-way through generating a course is the one case worth timing around.
Somebody who already has Lenni open when you turn off AI chatbot or the master switch can finish reading, but Lenni stops answering within about a minute. Their next question gets the reply Lenni isn’t available for your account, and the Lenni bar then disappears. This applies on the mobile app too.
