Finding and completing your training

Everything assigned to you is on one page, and anything else you are allowed to take is in the library.

On any screen that has a help article written for learners, including Learn, the question mark at the top right opens it in a help panel beside the screen, with a search box for the rest of the help centre.

Finding what you have to do

Choose Learn at the top of the page.
My learning lists your training in three groups: In progress, Mandatory and Recommended for you.

In progress means you have opened it and not finished it. Mandatory is training you have not started that you are required to complete.

Courses you have finished drop off this page. They are not lost: they are in your learning history.

To find anything else, choose Library, where you can search and filter by type, level, length and whether a course carries a certificate.

What the button on a course means

Button	What it means
Start course	You have not opened it
Resume course	You are part-way through
Retake course	Your last completion no longer counts and you need to do it again
Restart course	You have finished it and may take it again if you want to, or you weren’t signed off and need to take it again
Max attempts reached	You have used every attempt allowed

Retake and Restart look similar and mean different things. Retake appears when your certificate has expired or the course has changed enough that your old result no longer stands. Restart is optional.

On a course from an outside package (SCORM), a second button, Start again, appears beside Resume. That clears the attempt you are in and begins a new one, and where a course limits attempts the one you leave still counts, so Start again is not offered once you have no attempts left. It is also not offered while a finished course is waiting for sign-off. You are warned before it happens.

Finishing a course properly

Work through each page and press the button at the bottom. A module counts as done when you press it on that module’s last page, so turning pages alone does not finish anything.

Where a course has questions, all of them have to be answered before it will let you finish.

Some courses come from outside Learnient and open in their own window. Those report back only when you leave the content the way it intends, using its own exit or finish control. Closing the browser tab can leave the course looking unfinished when you believe you are done.

When a course is waiting for sign-off

Some courses need one more thing after you finish the content before they count as complete. You may be asked to sign a statement confirming you completed the course — it opens straight away when you finish, so sign it there and then. If you leave before signing, you are sent a reminder in Learnient and by email. Or a qualified person, such as an assessor at your site, may need to watch you put what you learned into practice and sign off your competency.

Until that is done, the course shows under Awaiting sign-off in your learning, with a message saying what you are waiting for. Your progress and score are kept, but there is no certificate yet and you cannot start the course again. Opening the course itself shows the same message instead of Resume, with View status to see what is outstanding. Speak to your manager if you are not sure who will observe you.

When you are signed off, the course completes and you are told. If you are not signed off, that attempt is closed and shows as failed. You are sent the reason, and the course’s own page shows You weren’t signed off yet with it, beside Restart course. Take the course again from the start, and you’ll be observed again when you finish. The message stays until you finish the course again, and not being signed off never uses up one of your attempts.

You may also be sent a short survey about a course after you finish it. It arrives as a task. Usually your course is already complete by then. If your employer has made the survey part of finishing the course, the course shows Awaiting sign-off until you answer it.

When something is late

A banner appears on your learning page telling you what is overdue or due soon, with a link straight to the course. Dismiss for now hides it for 24 hours on that device, and it comes back sooner if something else falls due. If one of your positions is not compliant, it stays until you catch up.
